Q : Why do you focus on international investors investing in the Emerging Market?
A : We identified a need to create a unique and differentiated Business Improvement capability specifically focusing on international investors such as Private Equity who invest, who want to invest or who have invested in the Emerging Market. We understand investing in the Emerging market is very different than in the developing world. E-merge is a highly specialised team who understands Business Improvement, having international reach and a team which can extract value through optimisation and business improvement processes. This capability is reconfigured in line with the investors mandate and requirements.

A : Yes. E-merge has the capability to address Business Improvement challenges in any type of business although the time and effort to extract value will be different between industries and regions.
Q : What does your risk model mean?
A : Our risk model means that we take risk with our clients. We have developed a model where we categorise businesses against certain criteria and we know exactly how much our cost would be to implement the improvement process. We conduct our work at cost and the E-merge profit lies in the benefits accruing from every project.
Q : Do you focus on the entire emerging market or do you focus on specific countries or regions?
A : Our vision is to cover the entire emerging market over the next 5 years. At the moment we have regional offices based in São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Turkey, South Africa and Singapore. These are our regional offices for the respective regions Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe and South East Asia. This capability is highly mobile and we have technology specifically designed for our requirements to ensure we have the ability to work with our clients in these areas.
Q : How do you deal with cultural and language challenges?
A : We have a highly skilled, multi-cultural team engaging in countries where they understand the language as well as the cultural dynamics. Although best business practices are universal the E-merge team truly understands and applies its multi-cultural understanding. We also engage with local partners where necessary.
Q : How sustainable will your improvements be?
A: We build capability whilst doing the improvement, ensuring that a culture of continuous improvement is embedded, which will lead to long term sustainability.
